Biography

Jordan Lotomba was at the Yverdon youth academy before moving to Lausanne, where he made his pro debut in 2016. Able to play on both sides of the back line, the full-back then won three Swiss titles with Young Boys and made his way through Switzerland's national sides before reaching the senior team following his arrival in Nice.

His 79 Swiss Super League appearances and 12 European games with YB meant he had the experience to quickly settle in France, and he featured in 36 competitive matches for his new club in his first season. After captaining his country's U21 side at their EURO, he was called up for the senior EURO in summer 2021, and was part of the squad that knocked out France in the Last-16.

Following the competition, the defender came back to Les Rouge et Noir full of enthusiasm. During the 2021-22 season, he played 34 times across all competitions. During that time, Jordan has again been called up to the national team and scored his first goal for Switzerland, against Kosovo in March.

Appearing 40 times in 2022-2023, his highest total since joining Nice, Le Gym's No23 has gone from strength to strength over the months. A combative player, Lotomba has won fans over with his sheer volume of play and his state of mind, as demonstrated by his impressive month of February, when he finished third in the Aiglon of the Month voting. His progress was slowed by a sprained ankle in March, but he was back in the team by the end of the season.
