Match report
First Ligue 1 victory for Nice (3-1)
Franck Haise’s side beat Auxerre 3-1 at the Allianz Riviera on Matchday 2 of Ligue 1. Boga, Akpa (own goal) and Moffi were the scorers for Nice.
It’s Le Gym’s first win of the season, achieved after a match full of determination! The Rouge et Noir claimed victory in style against Auxerre in the second match of their league campaign (3-1). Boga quickly opened the scoring (1-0, 3’) before Sinayoko equalised for AJA (1-1, 21’). Nice retook the lead soon after, thanks to an own goal forced by Kevin Carlos (2-1, 25’). Just before half-time, Auxerre were reduced to ten men after their goalkeeper was sent off for a late tackle on Jansson.
In the second half, Nice managed their lead and continued to pose a threat. Franck Haise’s substitutions created more chances, one of which was converted by Moffi, who came off the bench to score a header following a superb lobbed cross from Louchet (3-1, 76’). With this win, Les Aiglons earned their first three points of the season, two more than last year, when they also faced Auxerre and Toulouse in the opening two rounds.
Boga perfectly sets Le Gym on their way
For the visit of AJA, Franck Haise made three changes to his starting eleven compared to the first game of the season. Abdul Samed, starting for the first time, took a midfield role, while Kevin Carlos, also making his first start in red and black, led the attack. Jeremie Boga also made his first Ligue 1 start of the season on the left wing. Diouf, Mendy, Bah, Oppong, Louchet (who moved to right wing-back), Boudaoui, Bard (captain), and Jansson completed the Nice coach's line-up.
The match started perfectly for Les Aiglons. In the 3rd minute, Louchet delivered a perfect ball to Boga at the far post. The Ivorian winger controlled it and struck with the inside of his left foot to open the scoring (1-0, 3’), putting Le Gym on the right track. Focused and determined, Nice displayed commitment in every duel, with Mendy standing out to thwart a Burgundian attack downhis flank.
In an open and fast-paced first half, Yéhvann Diouf shone. The Nice goalkeeper produced a superb reflex save to deny a powerful shot from Casimir inside the box, then immediately blocked a header from Danois from close range (13’). Moments later, he was decisive again by tipping away a first-time shot from Sinayoko, who was alone in front of goal (19’).
Despite these saves, Auxerre equalised. Osman advanced down the right and crossed low to Sinayoko, who popped up on the penalty spot and beat Diouf with a left-footed strike (1-1, 21’).

Nice retake the lead
The response from Nice was immediate. After a tackle from Oppong in the opponent’s half, Boga accelerated through the middle and laid off to Kevin Carlos in the box. The Spanish forward pressed Akpa, who, under pressure, accidentally deflected the ball into his own net (2-1, 25’).
Les Aiglons continued to attack and produced some impressive attacking football. But Auxerre remained dangerous, forcing Diouf to shine once again: first from a powerful volley from Osman, then from a header from Sinayoko that he tipped off the line (36’).
Auxerre pressed at the end of the first half, occupying Nice’s half, but the hosts held firm with intensity and determination (38’). Just before half-time, Léon, the Auxerre goalkeeper, received a red card for a late tackle on Jansson, who was racing through alone on goal (45+1’). Le Gym headed into the dressing room with a one-goal lead and an extra man, after a lively and purposeful first half.

Les Aiglons manage their lead
The second half began at a slightly calmer pace, but the match remained open and Auxerre proved dangerous on the counter-attack. Kevin Carlos had the first chance for Les Aiglons: perfectly played through by Tom Louchet, the Spanish striker tried his luck with a right-footed shot in the box, but it flew just over the crossbar (54’).
Auxerre quickly responded, but Yéhvann Diouf intervened authoritatively to deny a shot from Sinayoko from outside the box (56’). Two minutes later, Jansson’s powerful strike was blocked by De Percin on the edge of the area (58’). Sinayoko continued to challenge the Nice keeper with a close-range effort that went just wide of the right post (59’).
Franck Haise made his first substitutions just after the hour mark. Abdul Samed and Jansson were replaced by Rosario and Diop. Nice continued to create chances. Boudaoui found Bard on the left side of the box, but the captain’s cross was turned away for a corner (67’). Rosario then attempted a shot from the right side of the box but failed to find the target (72’). After this move, Kevin Carlos was replaced by Moffi and Boga made way for Bouanani.
Moffi scores the third
Just after coming onto the pitch, Moffi found the net! After De Percin saved a shot from Rosario, Louchet perfectly followed up and delivered a superb lobbed cross to Moffi, who headed the ball in at the far post (3-1, 76’).
In the final minutes, Le Gym controlled the game, managing their lead. Franck Haise made a last substitution: Louchet, who had put in an excellent performance, was replaced by Koutoune (90’).
Despite one last attempt from Auxerre, Diouf was decisive again, blocking a shot from Sy (90+3’). Seconds later, Terem Moffi nearly scored again, his left-footed shot in the box striking the crossbar (90+3’).
Le Gym won 3-1, delivering a performance full of intensity and determination. A convincing victory that launches Les Aiglons’ seasons in Ligue 1.
