Coupe de France
Le Gym vs. L1 or L2 team in third round
The French Football Federation's (FFF) Executive Committee has established the Coupe de France formats for the 2020/21 season and decided to cancel the Gambardella Cup for the current campaign.
The formats have been changed due to the ongoing public health crisis, and have a direct impact on OGC Nice.
Regarding the men's Coupe de France, "the principle of a two-path competition up to the Last 32 has been decided on: one for the Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 clubs, a second for the others," the FFF explained. OGC Nice will go into the Third Round with the 19 other top-flight teams and the 10 L2 clubs who have come through from the previous round.
The 15 professional teams coming out of those ties will join the 17 amateur outfits in the Last 32, and the competition will continue through to the final in the same way as in previous seasons. The dates of the fixtures will be published soon.
The U19 Gym team will not, however, compete in the Gambardella Cup after it was cancelled for this season.
THE WOMEN'S TEAM IN THE FEDERAL 1ST ROUND
For the women's Coupe de France, teams are also divided into two paths. The first involving the top-flight sides, who enter the competition at the Last 32 stage, and the others, including OGC Nice, who are in the second tier.
The Gym will go into the Federal 1st Round along with 56 amateur clubs who have come through regional qualifying. There will be a 2nd Federal Round to negotiate too before the Last 32. At that stage, the 10 teams will join the six top-flight sides to play through the rounds in the usual format to the final.
