Benitez comes home in the polls
Accustomed to individual accolades, Walter Benitez is your Crédit Agricole PCA Aiglon of the Month for September. With 55% of the votes, the Argentina goalkeeper came home ahead of Amine Gouiri (35%) and defensive pair Andy Pelmard and Jordan Lotomba (3%).
Ina a month that featured three games without victory (1 draw, 2 defeats), Walter Benitez had to pick the ball out of his own net six. But the last line of defence made many more saves, as he has always done since he joined Le Gym in 2016.

He made 10 saves during the first outing of September in Montpellier (3-1), initially keeping his side in the contest, limiting the damage on the scoreboard. Equally brilliant in Bordeaux (0-0), the goalkeeper "preserved a share of the spoils" in Matmut-Atlantique, in a match that saw Le Gym his the woodwork several times on an unlucky day.
Having won over the Rouge et Noir fans at the end of his first month at the club, Amine Gouiri distinguished himself once again in September.

An assist in Montpellier for Dante, with just his second touch after coming on, the striker once again showed off his speed and technical quality during the ninth month of the year. However, he failed to find the back of the net, despite being a constant threat and almost splintering the cross bar in Bordeaux with a ferocious shot after a brilliant run.

Finally, two defenders shared the 3rd step of the podium. With 3% of the votes, Andy Pelmard and Jordan Lotomba are rewarded for their performances. The first one appeared 3 times in the centre of defence while the second confirmed his potential, showing his qualities on the wings, on the right and the left.
