THURSDAY RESULTS

THE DRAw

Placed in Pot 4 due to their coefficient (11.849), Les Aiglons will be drawn into a group comprising one side from each of the other three pots.

Two clubs from the same national association cannot be drawn in the same group.

OGC Nice will play each of the three opponents twice, once at home and once away.

The six group-stage matches of the Europa League will be played on 22, 29 October, 5, 26 November and 3, 10 December.

ARSENAL POT 1, AC MILAN IN POT 3

Most of the big sides and favourites for the competition have been placed in Pot 1, including English sides Arsenal and Tottenham, Italian outfits AS Roma and Napoli as well as Germans Bayer Leverkusen, and Portugal’s Benfica, Spain’s Villarreal and the Scots from Celtic.

Pots 2 and 3 also count a number of big clubs, used to continental competition. Leicester City, Real Sociedad, Red Star Belgrade and Dinamo Zagreb are all in Pot 2, while AC Milan AC, Grenade, Rangers and Hoffenheim find themselves in Pot 3.

Finally, in Pot 4, we find Le Gym and the other French participant Lille who cannot be drawn in the same group. Also in Pot 4 are Sivasspor, Slovan Liberec, Lech Poznan and CSKA Sofia.

The club coefficients are determined by the total number of points earned in the previous five years, or by the national association coefficient over the same period, depending on which is higher.
