Deal for Lees-Melou

On Monday, a new face will appear at the training ground at Charles-Ehrmann. Alongside Jean-Victor Makengo and Adrien Tameze, Pierre Lees-Melou will take his first steps under Lucien Favre.

A deal has been reached with Dijon FCO for one of the revelations of the season, Pierre Lees-Melou. The attacking midfielder, arrived in Nice on Wednesday and passed his medical on Thursday. There is only the ratification left to complete which will take place in time for the 2017-18 season. In the meantime, the player has been authorised by his club to train with the Red and Blacks.

A new chapter in his exciting rise to the top. Not kept on by the Girondins when he was 16 years old and measuring just 1m60, Pierre Lees-Melou (measuring 1m85 today) progressed in CFA2, at Lège, in 2014-15, whilst working during the day in a school on Cap-Ferret. Everything then accelerated for the youngster with an exemplary attitude, as his Sporting Director, formerly of Dijon, linked him up with the club. Instrumental in their promotion into L1 in 2016, he was a key member of the Dijon squad this season. Playing in 32 games, scoring 7 goals (including 4 with his head) and making 3 assists.

Described by Lucien Favre as an "important player" for his side before the return match in March, he will meet up with the Swiss coach on Monday at Charles-Ehrmann.
