LOOKING BACK: 16/17
March 2017: A tough blow and a spot of fatigue
The string of misfortune continues. The revelation of the season, Wylan Cyprien (8 goals, 3 assists in the league) once again secures the victory, this time against Dijon at the start of the month. Before suffering, 6 days later, from a cruciate knee injury, during the visit of Caen. A frustrating encounter in which the Aiglons lacked ideas, but still managed to grab a draw, coming back from two goals down.

Plea and Cyprien out, the Aiglons needed to do without two key players for the final sprint. A second draw against Nantes, combined with victories for Monaco and Paris, placed the two heavy boys 7 and 4 points ahead of the Gym respectively. The Niçois boasted a lead of 11 points on Lyon with 8 games to go - a lead which left them in a good place to finish the season on the podium.
Aiglon of the Month

Custodian of the Red and Black's game, Mika Seri was named as Aiglon of the Month for March by the Nice fans. Orchestrating proceedings, the number 6 once again showed the qualities that saw him named Aiglon of the Year: the glance, the right move, and the ability to take the pressure on his shoulders without influencing his game. Always at the centre of moves, the Ivorian also scored his 4th goal of the season against Nantes, with a inspired shot, almost surgical-like which secured an extra point for the Gym, in a Week 30 encounter that had generally passed them by.
