Looking back
Fans, unlike the others
From the stands, the Nice fans have left their mark on the 2016/17 season. A look back over the images of the epic involving a group of fans “unlike the others”.
Grief and hommages
One month after the events on the Promenade des Anglais, the Nice supporters began their 2016/17 in grief. Dressed in white, the crowd in the Allianz Riviera paid a stirring hommage to the victims of the attack, ahead of the first fixture of the year against Rennes (1-0).
At the start of the Autumn, once again, they were unable to hold back the tears, at the occasion of saying “goodbye” to OGC Nice legend, René Marsiglia.
In December, the Aiglons fans felt the pain of Brazilians, following the tragic aeroplane accident in Colombia. “Vamos Vamos Chape” filled the stands, in support of Chapecoense, hugely affected by the accident.
Travels and bans
This season, the Niçois travelled en masse to support Lucien Favre’s side beyond the borders of the region. During the Europa League campaign, the red and black flag flew proudly through the airspace of Austria, Germany and even Russia.

In France, the Louis-II was once again dominated by the Niçois and we remember fondly the trips to Montpellier, Dijon or even Lyon.

But we will also remember the desperately empty away ends at Metz, Bastia or even Marseille, because of far too regular travel bans imposed on the Gym fans.

Something which didn’t stop them from coming to celebrate their heroes, however, upon their departure and return to Nice.

Party at home
Often restricted away from home, the Niçois’ joy couldn’t be controlled at home. In an Allianz Riviera which boasted its second best attendance in its history (22 949 fans on average), both young and old participated in their own way to this historic season.
From his arrival, the star Mario Balotelli was made known by the cries of “Suuuuuper Mario”, and has since made history.
This large support would prove to be extremely fruitful. With 14 wins, 4 draws, 1 defeat, the Aiglons imposed their laws at home, driven on by enchanting songs.
Boiling, brilliant, the Niçois were one of the main architects of this season that concluded on the podium. Far from being satisfied, the Nice supporters are already raring to go for the start of the 2017/18 season. Ready to cross once again new borders. And to travel to new mountains.
