October 2016: The perfect month

Arriving with the desire to “continue to build”, Lucien Favre cemented a well-shaped side to battle at the top. October came as a confirmation of that. 5 wins in 5 outings secured a perfect month.

After Lorient, were beaten thanks to Super Mario (2-1), Lyon (2-0) and Nantes (4-1) saw themselves turned over in the Plaine du Var. The hazards were brushed aside, the path opened up before them and the deadlines put in front of them couldn't weigh them down. The Nice fans were ever present and turned the Allianz into a fortress. And far from home, Nice had the benefit of Alassane Plea. In good form, the number 14 scored the only goal during the trip to Salzburg and scored a hat trick against Metz for good measure. The team remained at the top of all the rankings. Driven on by their character and belief.

Aiglon of the Month

"Plea makes huge strides", was the headline as he picked up his trophy. This was demonstrated by: a Plea who shone during October. Strong as a rock, combative as a lion, the number 14 carried the side forward. With 7 goals in 11 games in L1, he had hit the ground running from the start of the season. Precious and a team player.
