This season, it’s at home that the Gym built the foundations for this historic season. Here are 6 figures from a campaign full of emotions at the Allianz Riviera.

This season, all the members of the Top 10 went home empty-handed from the trip to the Côte d'Azur. In fact, one by one, Rennes (1-0), Marseille (3-2), Monaco (4-0), Lyon (2-0), Nantes (4-1), Guingamp (3-1), Saint-Étienne (1-0), Bordeaux (2-1) and finally Paris (3-1) fell on the pitch of the Allianz Riviera.

In their den, Lucien Favre’s men assured the spectacle, hitting the back of the opponent’s net on 39 occasions this season. With an average of over two goals per game the Red and Black supporters were well treated. The only disappointment came against Metz (0-0) and Angers (0-2) when the Nice attack didn’t make the scoresheet.

The Gym had not been beaten at home since 26 February 2016 (0-2 against Bastia), until the final home game of the season when they fell to defeat against Angers. A result which prevented them from concluding the season unbeaten at home (14 wins, 4 draws, 1 defeat).

This season, Lucien Favre’s side puled in the punters. In fact, with an average of 22 94 fans, this becomes the 2nd best average in the history of the Allianz Riviera, just behind its inaugural season. Meaning 3 757 more people that the average of last season, finishing in 4th place (19 192). And more than double that of the European qualification campaign of 2012-13, where the Ray had an average of 10 246 supporters per season.

This is the highest attendance of the season, clocked up for the visit of Paris SG. Pushed on by an incandescent Allianz Riviera, the Aiglons turned over the current quadruple champion of France (3-1). What’s more, for this dream, the Niçois flocked in their numbers to encourage Super Mario and his teammates against Angers (32 446), Marseille (31 194), Dijon (29 229) and Lyon (28 139).

The number of times the Allianz Riviera changed faces this season. The forecourt was converted into a Christmas Village (Dijon), into a ski resort (Guingamp), or into carnival (Montpellier). Before cheering on the Aiglons, the Niçois also celebrated Easter (Nancy), Epiphany (Metz), International Womens’ Day (Caen),, the jazz festival (Paris). Before a finale filled with colours against Angers.
