Recap
They scored for the Gym
Offensively active, the Aiglons have often put the ball into the back of their opponent’s net this season, only failing to score in 8 games (in 46 competitive matches). A detailed review of the scorers of the 71 Nice goals in 2016-17.
In the league, the Gym scored 63 goals this season, the 4th best total in the top-flight. The main prong to the Nice attack is no other than Mario Balotelli. In his first season in France, the Italian scored 15 goals (in 23 games), making it the best league total in his career. He beats his attacking partner Alassane Plea, who also beat his personal record, with 11 goals, before his campaign was halted during the 25th game of the season (knee injury).

Personal records fall
Behind the two strikers, two midfielders appear. His positioning - often just in front of the defence - has not stopped Wylan Cyprien from flying forward. Before picking up his injury (ruptured cruciate ligament), the former Lens man scored 8 goals in 29 encounters, making it 1 more than last season in the league below.

The Aiglon of the Season Mika Seri also had his say, with 7 goals. He also set a new personal record, just as Anastasios Donis did, the scorer of the goals in an incredible finale (5 goals including 4 during his final 6 games).
Behind the top five, Eysseric (4 goals), Belhanda and Le Bihan (3) also added their impact to Gym’s season, like their more defensive counterparts such as Baysse and Ricardo (2), or even Koziello, Sarr and Souquet (1).
And in the Cups?
Eliminated from the beginning of their campaign, the Aiglons only scored 2 goals in the Coupe de la Ligue (Plea, Balotelli) and 1 in Coupe de France (Plea).
Finally, in 6 games in the Europa League, 5 niçois got their names on the scoresheet. With Balotelli, Bosetti, Cyprien, Le Marchand and Plea each having one goal to their names.
