With the draw in Lyon, OGC Nice finish the season with 78 points. The second best total in its history for a season in the top division, after 1958/59 (80 - converted using 3 points for a win) during their last championship win.

It is also, the best total for a 3rd placed side, ex-aequo with St Etienne in 1978/79 (78 - converted using 3 points for a win).

Monaco and Paris automatically qualify for the group stages of the Champions League in September. OGC Nice, for the first time on the podium in 41 years, will play in the 3rd qualifying round at the end of July. If Ajax win the Europa League on Wednesday, the Aiglons will directly qualify for the play-off stages scheduled for mid-August. Lyon and Marseille will be in Europe. Bordeaux need Paris to win in the Coupe de France (against Angers) to also qualify for Europe.

At the back of the pack, Bastia and Nancy are relegated. Lorient will play in the play-offs against Troyes.

Next season, Strasbourg and Amiens will be in Ligue 1.
