Aiglon of the Month

Choose the Player of the Month for April

Who is your Crédit Agricole Aiglon of the month for April? During the prosperous period in which the Gym successfully confirmed its place in Europe and in the top three, there are three players who are in with a shout to win this individual recognition: Valentin Eysseric, Mario Balotelli and Mickaël Le Bihan. Each having taken home the Aiglon of the Match award during the period, the prerequisite needed to be in the hat for the monthly award.

Valentin Eysseric (Named Aiglon of the match against Bordeaux and Toulouse)
His rise to power has made him one of the Aiglon’s strengths. Technical, agressive, Valentin Eysseric has put in back-to-back back high level performances, in a mature and hard-hitting style. The number 13 admits directly: he has “never taken so much pleasure”. Which is demonstrated in the numbers, where he makes an impact in an almost systematic way.  What did he take home from April? Two stunning goals (against Bordeaux and Toulouse) and two incredible assists, for Balotelli at Lille and Seri against Nancy. Solid.

Mario Balotelli (Named Aiglon of the match against Lille and Paris)
Like a lot of beautiful plants, he flourishes in Spring. His last performance against Paris, highlighted by his magnificent goal to open the scoring (his 14th goal in 21 matches in L1) and several moves that got the Allianz roaring, is a perfect example. With number 9 worn on his shirt, the Italian star secured numerous points during a pressured period. A goal and an assist against Bordeaux, a brace against Lille, superb against Paris, Super Mario is putting in top performances one after the other and is loving life. All of that with a sort of “je ne sais quoi” transforming each outing into an event.

Mickaël Le Bihan (Named Aiglon of the match against Nancy)
Finally, Mickaël Le Bihan completes the list of candidates. After having patiently constructed a sumptuous return against Montpellier, the centre forward has accumulated game time. Whether that be appearing at the end of the game (Bordeaux, Lille, Paris) or starting the match (Nancy, Toulouse). Powerful, generous, capable of dropping in and helping his teammates, MLB also maintains a certain statistical consistency, given that he put the ball into the back of the net against Nancy before landing the ball onto the head of Tassos Donis against Paris. After brilliantly passing his return test, the former Le Havre striker is improving week on week. Good omens.
