Interview
If Dalbert were...
After Vincent Koziello another Aiglon took his turn to undergo our hypothetical interview: Dalbert Henrique. This was no problem for the Brazilian full-back, who is used to leaving home base and flying far from home. In this international break weekend, check out how the powerful number 29 fared off the beaten media path… So, Dalbert, if you were…
… A Gym fan during the beginning of the season ?
I'd say that everything is going pretty well. The team is playing beautiful football and collecting points, so there's everything I need to be happy, even though there are a lot of matches left to play. Also, I'd think that the Gym need to continue this way, and that if they can, they will surely be rewarded at the end of the season.
… a left-footer made to play on the right ?
I've never thought about that (laughs). I played on the right for a while in Brazil, be it at right-back or in midfield. It doesn't bother me. If I have to play over there, then fine, even if my right foot is not the better of the two.
… an opponent trying to dribble past you ?
That's a tough question. Perhaps I'd think about watching my back if I lost the ball, as I would be up against a player who can go fast and who loves to get forward.
… the perfect move ?
There are two kinds. Collectively, the team can string the passes together and end up scoring. Individually, you can have an assist or a goal. A nutmeg? (laughs) That's "la joga bonito" (sic) - it's not the most important thing even though, obviously, it's a lot of fun!
… the match you have always dreamed of playing in ?
(After hesitating) I don't really think of it like that. On the other hand, wearing the yellow shirt of the national team must be something pretty amazing. Having the honour of pulling on the shirt, taking the pitch and playing for your country - I imagine it's magnificent. It doesn't really matter what the fixture is.
… THE match that has thrilled you as a spectator ?
Santos-Flamengo (in 2011). Neymar versus Ronaldinho. I remember this match like it was yesterday. Flamengo won 5-4. Neymar was on fire and scored three or four goals, as did Ronaldinho. It was like futsal, it was magnificent. Also, one of Neymar's goals was voted as goal of the year. He dribbled around practically the whole team.
… any of the world's football stadi ?
The Maracana.
... A song?
A Samba tune! For sure (big smile). I can't choose a specific song, there are too many. But it would be Samba and nothing else.
… A dream outside of football?
I have no particular dream. The only thing I desire is to be able to help my family and make my people happy.
… A place in Nice?
That depends. I love the beach and the place Masséna, which is very pretty, and also the stores like Cap 3000. Frankly, Nice is a very beautiful city. And also, Ricardo told me that he would take me to check out the Colline du Château…
