Post-game interview
Favre: 'With style'
The great run continues…
Yes, and overall, we deserved the victory. But we didn’t have it all are own way, especially at the start. They had some good chances and if they had scored, it may have been a different story. They played with two strikers and Bammou and Harit wide. They were better than us at the start.
When we got the upper hand, they had to change because Ricardo was finding a lot of space and was very dangerous so they switched to a more traditional 4-4-2.
The timing of the first goal was very good. The second goal was magnificent. Then, at 2-0, we relaxed a little. We conceded that goal, when we were caught in possession, and yet we knew that Nantes pressed like that, and after that we suffered. Plea’s goal to make it 3-1 was very important.
You are a happy coach today…
I don’t have much to be unhappy about (smiles).
A six-point lead over Paris and Monaco... that’s a big lead...
(Sighs). We have only played 11 games. The most important thing is the 29 points. I don’t think many expected that. We are enjoying it, but we are already focused on our next match, and that has nothing to do with the championship. We have to work on our recovery, to prepare well for this Europa League clash. We all know our situation. We don’t have any choice.
What can your side continue to improve?
A lot of things. The concentration, the choices we make. Sometimes we played too many passes. But we also played well in passages, it was good. We won in style.
We approach each game with the aim of winning, and each player must know his potential and work hard to reach it.
Balotelli was involved in three of the four goals. How did you find him today?
For his goal, he made a great run. He is very good at that. He had a full week’s rest and then he worked normally for a week. Today he worked a bit harder in defence. It’s very positive.
