Pre-season matches: The schedule

Here is an update on Le Gym's pre-season schedule for summer 2025.

Les Aiglons were due to return to match action this Saturday with their first friendly against Lausanne. But due to severe disruption to air traffic, their first opponents of the summer will not be able to travel to Nice as originally planned. This means that Franck Haise's men will now complete a third week of pre-season training in Nice before playing three home games at the training centre, all behind closed doors.

Cercle Brugge, who finished 13th in the regular season of the Jupiler League in 2024-25 and already visited the training centre in the summer of 2022, will arrive in Nice on July 12. The team secured its place in the Belgian top flight thanks to a successful playoff against Patro Eisden (5-1 and 3-1 victories). Slightly further ahead in their pre-season preparations, they will kick off their league season on July 26 at FC Dender.

The Red and Black rhythm will quicken following this first game, with Aubagne coming to town on Wednesday, July 16. The Provençaux finished the 2024-25 season in sixth place in the National league, a successful debut at this level. Their league season starts on August 8. It should be noted that in the spring, FC Aubagne merged with SC Air Bel, giving rise to Sporting Club Aubagne Air Bel.

Dante's teammates then have another match three days later, against AC Ajaccio. Finishing 12th in last season's Ligue 2, the Corsicans were relegated by the DNCG, pending a further hearing on July 10. They began their pre-season on June 28. This match will also be the first to be broadcast in full on OGCNICE.tv.

The next two matches will take place on Saturday, July 26, at the end of a training camp in Grödig, in the Austrian mountains. In the morning, Nice will face Feyenoord. The Dutch side, who reached the round of 16 in last season's Champions League (losing 2-0 and 2-1 to Inter Milan), finished third in the Eredivisie and are also in the third round of Champions League qualifying (draw on July 21). The match against a team featuring two former Nice players (Calvin Stengs and Jordan Lotomba) will kick off at 11am.

At 3pm, still in Austria, Le Gym will face St. Pauli, who finished 14th in the Bundesliga last season. Alexander Blessin's team will resume their season on the weekend of August 23, when they host Dortmund.

The Aiglons are expected to play one final warm-up match in the week leading up to their third-round Champions League tie.
