Everything you need to know about pre-season, starting on Monday
We last saw the Aiglons in action on 17 May as they notched a magnificent 6-0 victory over Brest to clinch a fourth-placed finish in Ligue 1. One month on, the story is set to continue: Franck Haise's squad will begin their pre-season preparations this Monday. Here's everything you need to know before everything kicks off.
There on Monday
Here are the players who will be present this Monday:
Goalkeepers: Dupé, Boulhendi, Zelazowski
Defenders: Dante, Bombito, Louchet, Bard, Clauss
Midfielders: Camara, Ndombele, Bernardeau, Sanson
Forwards: Diop, Bouanani, Moffi, Orakpo, Nguene, Laborde, Cho
Youssouf Ndayishimiye and Mohamed Abdelmonem, both injured, will continue their treatment at the training centre.
Progressive return to action
The squad will gradually fill out over the summer as certain players return from international duties. Djibril Coulibaly, who took part in the Euro U17 Championship with France, will be back in action on 30 June.
Billal Brahimi, Mattia Viti, Ayoub Amraoui and Aliou Baldé, on loan in 2024-25, will make their return to action on 1 July.
Seven international players will join the squad on Thursday 3 July: Marcin Bułka, Ali Abdi, Antoine Mendy, Hicham Boudaoui, Evann Guessand, Jeremie Boga and Amidou Doumbouya.
The last two players called up for national team duty - Pablo Rosario (Gold Cup) and Rares Ilie (U21 Euros) - will return on 15 and 9 July respectively.
Key summer dates
It's going to be a hot summer, and full of action too. Here are some important dates to save:
5 July: Le Gym's first warm-up match will be held on 5 July. The full pre-season programme will be announced shortly.
21 July: The draw for the Champions League's Third qualifying round will take place in Nyon (Switzerland) on 21 July.
21 to 26 July: On the same day, Franck Haise's squad will head to the Austrian town of Anif for a training camp lasting until 26 July.
4 August: The draw for the Champions League play-offs will be held on Monday 4 August, again in Nyon. Le Gym will therefore know their potential opponents for the next round even before they play their Third qualifying round tie. The play-off matches have been scheduled for 19/20 August and 26/27 August.
5 or 6 August / 12 August: The first leg of the Champions League Third qualifying round will take place on Tuesday 5 or Wednesday 6 August, while the return leg is scheduled for Tuesday 12 August, just a few days before Ligue 1 resumes...
15 August: The league resumes on the weekend of 15 August.
