Justin Kluivert spoke to the press on Tuesday after taking part in his first team training session in the morning, a week after joining the club. The Dutchman, who is on loan (with an option to buy) from AS Roma, explained the reasons for his choice.

"I knew Calvin (Stengs) and Kasper (Dolberg) from Holland. They are part of the reason I decided to come here," said Justin Kluivert on Tuesday at the summer signing presentation press conference. “The fact that the club is able to attract these players is a very good thing. As well as speaking about the two attacking talents, the winger said that Christophe Galtier was the driving force behind his decision to join Gym: "He is an excellent coach, he showed it last season by being French champion. The fact that he is coming here is a great thing and it shows that the club is ambitious. We had some good discussions with each other and with Julien Fournier too. They are part of the reasons I came. I am happy with my choice of Nice."

In Ligue 1, Justin Kluivert will experience his fourth different league after experiences at Ajax Amsterdam, AS Roma and RB Leipzig: "I started with Ajax, a very competitive team. In Italy, a slightly more difficult league, I learned a lot and in Germany too. I'm looking forward to starting in France, we're working hard with the team, and I can't wait to show my qualities."
