Fixtures 2018-19

First and last games of the season at home!

The fixture list for the next Ligue 1 Conforama season was released on Thursday afternoon by the LFP.

The wishes of OGC Nice were respected: the Aiglons will start and conclude their season in front of their own fans. Something that hasn’t happened for them in... 52 years! In fact, you have to go back to the 1966-67 season, which started and concluded at the Stade du Ray against Sochaux and Stade Français.

Until now, the Nice fans had been called to the first and the last game of the season on just 3 occasions in the top flight. The first time since the professional game was launched in France in 1932-33: the Red and Blacks welcomed Nîmes and then Sète at either end of the season. 40 years later, it happened again with matches at the Léo-Lagrange against Strasbourg and Rennes (1962-63) then against Toulouse and Sedan (1963-64).

Reims to open...

The first opponent of the season will be Stade de Reims. Returning to the top flight after starring in Ligue 2 last year, David Guion’s side will travel to the Côte d'Azur on the weekend of 11 August.

... Monaco to close!

The last month of the season promises 4 fixtures, with trips to Paris (Week 35) and Saint-Etienne (Week 37) and two encounters at the Allianz Riviera: against Nantes (Week 36), then Monaco. This derby will be the final page of the 2018/19 season.

First round in Nice, the second in Marseille

The most attractive match for the supporters, the derby of the Mediterranean will take place on the weekend of 20 October at the Allianz Riviera, in Week 10 of L1 (the second meeting of the sides will take place at the Vélodrome in Week 28).

The games against Paris SG

The fixture against the Champion of France, which attracted the highest attendance of the session (33 478 spectators, 4th best in the Allianz Riviera’s history), will take place during the final weekend of September (Week 8). The Niçois will head to the Parc des Princes for Week 35 (weekend of 4 May).

Lyon, Sainté, and the others...

Finally, the visits of the Stéphanois and the Lyonnais are scheduled for mid December and mid February respectively.

Returning to the top flight after a 25 year wait, Nîmes Olympique will head to the Allianz Riviera on the weekend of 26 January, just one and a half months after the Niçois’ trip to the Stade des Costières.

The back to backs

The home away alternation will be broken on two occasions: 2 consecutive trips in February (Angers then Amiens) and by two home games at the end of April, with  Caen and then Guingamp travelling to Nice.
