Christophe Jallet joins Nice

OGC Nice is happy to announce the signing of Christophe Jallet. Released from the final year of his contract with Lyon, the full-back arrives at the Gym, one week before the 3rd Qualifying Round of the Champions League against Ajax.

After the recruitment of young players with high potential (J.V. Makengo, Adrien Tameze, Pierre Lees-Melou) and Super Mario’s contract extension, Lucien Favre has added an experienced professional to his squad, a player who is used to plying his trade at the highest level.

Beginning his career at Niort in the early 2000s, the Cognac-born defender discovered L1 for the first time with Lorient in 2006. With the Merlus, Jallet played three full seasons, before heading to PSG in 2009, where he quickly imposed himself. A two-time Champion of France with Paris (2013-2014), winner of all of the national trophies, he joined up with the French national side in August 2012. At 33 years of age, he has picked up 14 caps for his country (1 goal scored), was part of the Euro 2016 squad which reached the final and participated in the most recent French squad in June.

After 3 seasons in Lyon, he is now preparing himself for a new challenge in red and black. He has, in the bag, 308 L1 matches (over 400 as a pro), 42 appearances in Europe – including the semi-final of the Europa League last season against Ajax – and an experience upon which his new teammates will be able to rely on.

Welcome Christophe!
