AIGLON OF THE MONTH

Schmeichel wins the award

Kasper Schmeichel has received the most votes for the title of Aiglon of the Month for November. With 44% of the votes, the Danish goalkeeper won and succeeded Mario Lemina.

He had finished October in style. Kasper Schmeichel was very solid in goal to keep the Gym afloat in Lorient (1-2 win), and showed all his skills. This performance paved the way for him to win his first Aiglon of the Match award, and second place for the month of October behind Mario Lemina.

On the back of his momentum, he was brilliant in Cologne. The former Leicester defender was able to deal with the numerous chances Cologne had. The former Leicester goalkeeper had to deal with a number of chances, such as Tigges' header, which Schmeichel was able to keep out with a superb save, and he was able to keep the ball out of the net. The 36-year-old goalkeeper has been called up for the World Cup and has shown a calmness that is beyond reproach. Even when the Gym had to hold on to their draw to see out the winter. The Viking and his partners succeeded in their mission (2-2), and three days later they were able to continue their winning ways at home. At the Allianz Riviera, Kasper Schmeichel shone again against Brest to keep OGC Nice in the hunt for victory (1-0).

The three points, added to a 1-1 draw at Lyon where the Danish international was only beaten from the penalty spot, rewarded the defensive solidity shown by the Copenhagen native and his partners. Two draws and a victory marked this month of November where the Gym got back to good performances. A fine performance in which Kasper Schmeichel is no stranger. And that is rewarded by this award.

Second with 28%, the two-time winner of the Aiglon of the month in August and September, Jean-Clair Todibo also has his share of responsibility in Nice's good performance. The defender has demonstrated match after match his perfect understanding with Dante to reassure the red and black team. Very good on the ball and in duels, the defender has just extended his contract until 2027.

Billal Brahimi, who scored for the first time in his Côte d'Azur career, is also on your podium. The Algerian international, who was called up at the last minute this week, scored in a 2-2 draw in Cologne, earning 13 per cent of the vote. He had already scored in a friendly against Roma, but his first goal for Nice was the reward for his recent performances.

Brahimi's strike in Cologne gave the Aiglons a 0-2 lead at the break.
