The Gym's goals under the microscope

OGC Nice have scored 25 goals* in 15 games in Ligue 1, two Conference League play-offs and six group games.

THE GYM MORE EFFECTIVE IN THE FIRST HALF, BUT...

13 goals in the first half. 11 in the second half (not counting Beka Beka's extra-time gem in the play-off against Tel Aviv). The record is rather balanced.

But on closer inspection, this stat differs according to the competition: in Ligue 1, Gym scored more in the second half (8) than in the first half (7). This trend is confirmed when we focus on the post-European Cup championship matches, sometimes played less than 72 hours after the C4 match. In this particular case, 62.5% of Nice's goals were scored in the second half (5 out of 8).

It is during European matches that Lucien Favre's men have been the most decisive from the start: 6 goals before the 45', 3 afterwards (4 counting the extra time against the Israelis).

Joe Bryan, THE FASTEST

The fastest goal of the season for Nice was scored by Joe Bryan. The English left-back scored after just 82 seconds at Partizan Belgrade (C4 J2 - 1-1). Mattia Viti needed just 15 seconds more to leap to the near post and head home the opening goal against Troyes in the French Ligue 1 matchday 10 (3-2).

NICOLAS PEPE, RIGHT AT THE DEATH

In contrast, Nicolas Pepe's goal was the latest in a long line of goals. By converting the penalty obtained by Dante in the depths of added time against Nantes (1-1), the Ivorian allowed the Gym to continue their unbeaten run in the league (90+7'). This streak is still ongoing (6 matches unbeaten).

12 different scorers

Nice's goals were scored by 12 different scorers: Ramsey (1), Delort (6), Claude-Maurice (1), Beka Beka (1), Bryan (1), Laborde (4), Pepe (6), Viti (1), Diop (1), Lemina (1), Atal (1), Brahimi (1).

DELORT AND PEPE LEAD THE WAY, LABORDE JUST BEHIND

Two men are currently sharing the top scorer spot in the squad: Andy Delort and Nicolas Pepe. The two strikers have scored 6 goals in the red and black jersey since the start of the season. The Sète buffalo has scored five goals in L1 and scored a penalty in C4 against Cologne. The player on loan from Arsenal has scored four goals in the top flight - the last one at Lyon - and two in Europe.

Gaëtan Laborde has scored four times with Gym (three in the league and one in the Conference League), but he also has six goals this season, if we take into account the two he scored with Rennes at the start of the season.
