OGC Nice and Wesley Sneijder have agreed personal terms. The Dutch attacking midfielder arrived this afternoon on the Côte d’Azur will now undergo his medical visit before officially signing for Le Gym.

Just days after eliminating Ajax in the Champions League qualifiers, one of the Dutch club's icons – whose portrait adorns the Amsterdam Arena – is in the process of joining Nice. A free agent after cancelling his contract with Galatasaray, Wesley Sneijder, 33, was convinced by Gym's sporting project.

A product of one of the most fabled youth academies in the world, the Dutch international (131 caps, 31 goals) quickly established himself as a reference for his position in the world. A playmaker, a passer, with an eye for goal and set piece specialist, the man from Utrecht has left his mark everywhere he has played.

He debuted for Ajax at just 18 years of age and was an international at 19, before playing for Real Madrid (2007-2009), Inter Milan (2009-2013), Galatasaray (2013-2017). The former Oranje captain, and 2010 World Cup finalist (4th in the Ballon d'Or ranking that same year), has been crowned champion of Spain, Italy and Turkey and won the Champions League in 2010 with Inter. He has also won the Cup in each country he has played in.
