OGC Nice participate in Operation #MissingType
For the occasion of World Blood Donor Day which took place on Wednesday 14 June with the objective of improving awareness about the importance of giving blood, the French Blood Establishment (EFS) has launched Operation #MissingType! Now a Partner of the EFS for over year, OGC Nice played a part in this important occasion of solidarity throughout the day.
“Certain letters are more powerful than others”. This is the slogan that the EFS has used to launch its first edition of Operation ‘#MissingType’ in France. The goal? To inform as many people as possible of the importance of giving blood. How? By inviting the maximum number of businesses and institutions to remove the letters ‘O’, ‘A’ and ‘B’ (letters which represent the different blood types) from their logo. And in doing so, the objective being to encourage as many as possible to give blood in an act which saves lives.
A partner of the EFS with whom several blood donation sessions have been organised during the 2016/17 season, OGC Nice have of course shown their desire to participate in this original and indispensable operation with the aim of mobilising, once again, their supporters around this important cause.
Consequently, during the day, the letter ‘O’ disappeared from the Gym’s logo on all club publications on social media to attract people’s attention to this cause.
As a reminder, 10,000 blood donations are required each day in France. They allow treatment for millions of sick people each year. In this way, it is possible for you to give blood throughout the year, by heading to the ‘Maison du Don du Sang Nice TNL*’.
