It's official for Obbadi
Mounir Obbadi (33 years old) is officially a Niçois. A free agent following his departure from Lille, the midfielder chose to join the Aiglons.
The Nice midfield has added a new face. An experienced professional, Mounir Obbadi has shown consistency throughout the years, be it in Ligue 1, Ligue 2 or abroad. Beginning his career in Paris, the versatile midfielder first of all built a solid reputation for himself in the 2nd Division with SCO d’Angers. Then he spent six seasons with Troyes and led their return to the top-flight with the captain’s armband on his arm (2011/2012).
It was then off to Monaco for Obbadi following the relegation of the Estac, where he once again was involved in promotion, this time helping the club of the Principality to return to L1 during the 2012/2013 season. He was an important element of that Monaco side and his ability to read the game and intercept as well as his competency on the ball, earnt him an opportunity to try his chance in Serie A with Hellas Verona (2014/15), before returning to France to join LOSC Lille. Since the start of his career, he has made 179 appearances in L2, 85 in L1 and has scored 25 goals.
Attracted by the versatility of the veteran, OGC Nice have decided to put their confidence in the midfielder at ease on the international stage, who featured this winter at the Africa Cup of Nations with Morocco.
Welcome Mounir !
