Nice - Marseille

Galtier : "My players won"

In a press conference on Thursday, Christophe Galtier and Dante were asked about the outcome of the game between Nice and Marseille. For the coach and the captain, the Aiglons won the derby, the final result of which is to be confirmed by the authorities on Wednesday 8 September.

"Yes my players won, they won it on the pitch” said Galtier, who was asked if OGC Nice should take all three points from the Nice-Marseille game, where the Olympians refused to play after the game was interrupted, as the Gym were leading 1-0 with 15 minutes remaining.

But he did not want to speak about the sanctions that will be announced by the Disciplinary Committee on Wednesday 8 September following last Sunday’s incident: "There is the sporting fact, and then there will be sanctions on the legal front. We have to let the investigation take place. I can't give an opinion today. We will see what happens."

DANTE: "THE CERTAINTY THAT THE THREE POINTS ARE OURS”

The same is true of Dante, who says that the Aiglons "won the match on the pitch. The referee confirmed that we could resume and that security was ready to restart the match. It was 1-0 and the opponent didn't want to play anymore...", recalls Dante.

Beyond that, the number 4 also wanted to insist on the attitude of the Rouge et Noir squad at the time of the incidents: "As captain and leader of the team, I saw a team that tried to calm things down. For me, this is the big positive point and it gives us the certainty that the three points, sport-wise, are ours."
