The 2021-22 pre-season schedule

Two Ligue 2 sides, three foreign teams, one Ligue 1 outfit and a last game at the Allianz Riviera… Here is the Aiglons’ schedule, who will play 7 friendlies before the league restarts.

Saturday 3 July: First friendly against Rodez

After the first week back, made up of medical tests and the first training sessions on the pitch, the Rouge et Noir will take part in their first friendly of the summer. They will face Rodez Aveyron Football, who also restarted on 28 June. This game against the Aveyronnais, who finished 15th last season in Ligue 2, will take place behind closed doors on the training ground.

Saturday 10 July: Nice will face Lausanne once more

The Aiglons will carry on their preparations in the Comté. To end the second week of their summer, they will welcome Lausanne-Sport, once more at the rouge et noir training ground (behind closed doors).

6th in the last Swiss Super League, the LS, who have multiple Aiglons in their squad, had already travelled to the Côte d’Azur for a friendly, on 11 October 2019 (0-0). Both teams have also already faced each other in Divonne-les-Bains.

Friday 16 July: Derby against Bastia in Divonne

In mid-July, Christophe Galtier’s group will go to Divonne-les-Bains, where they’ve been spending their summer camps since 2013. They will have an important part of their preparation there as they play three friendlies.

The first one, to start the camp up will be against SC Bastia. The derby away from home – the first since 20 January 2017 (1-1) – will take place at the Stade Municipal de Divonne (behind closed doors, and with a kick off time to be confirmed). To note that the Corsicans, relegated to N3 in 2017, will play in Ligue 2 for the 2021-22 season.

Saturday 17 July: Dynamo Kiev just after

The day after Bastia, the Aiglons will once more be on the pitch, for a game against Dynamo Kiev. They are defending Ukrainian champions after five years without a trophy, Mircea Lucescu also won the Ukranian Cup and the Ukranian Super Cup last season.

The game will take place in Meyrin, Switzerland (kick off at 20:00).

Wednesday 21 July: The reunion with les Verts

In the middle of this camp, the Gym will face the ASSE, who they already faced last summer. A reunion with Christophe Galtier’s former team (he managed ASSE from 2009 to 2017) will take place on Wednesday 21 July at 18:00 (location to be determined.

Saturday 24 July: Berlin to end the camp

The camp in the Ain will end with a trip to Austria. Onto Imst for a game against Union Berlin, 7th in last season’s Bundesliga. The game against the first German side in the Europa Conference League will kick off at 16:00.

Saturday 31 July: Party at the Allianz

The summer preparation will finish at the Allianz Riviera. The details of the final friendly, one week before the first game in Ligue 1 (the weekend of the 8 against Reims), will be communicated shortly…
