12 Aiglons on international duty

9 Aiglons from the first-team squad and 3 players from the youth academy are all heading off on national-team duty for the end of the month. Let’s take a look at what’s in store for our international stars…

Dolberg with Denmark at Euro 2020

The Aiglons' No. 9 has been called up with Denmark for the Euro, but before then, the Danes will play two friendlies; against Germany (2 June) and Bosnia (6 June) before starting the competition proper.

In Group B, Dolberg and Co. will face Finland (12 June), Belgium (17 June) and Russia (21 June).

Kamara's debut with the Elephants

Hassane Kamara, the most-used outfield player for Le Gym during the 2020-21 season, has earned his first call-up to the Côte d'Ivoire squad.

The left-back and the Elephants have two friendlies to look forward to: at home against Burkina Faso (5 June) and in Accra against Ghana (12 June).

Algeria: Atal and Boudaoui joined by Boulhendi!

As the season draws to a close, OGC Nice's two African champions, Youcef Atal and Hicham Boudaoui, will fly to Algeria with their teammate Teddy Boulhendi.

Gym academy graduate, Boulhendi is the third-choice goalkeeper for the Aiglons and has already appeared for Algeria U20s and is being called up to the senior squad for the first time. The Fennecs will play three friendly matches: in Blida against Mauritania (3 June) and Mali (6 June), then in Tunis against Tunisia (11 June).

Lotomba and Ndoye named in 29-strong Swiss squad

A week ago, coach Vladimir Petkovic named 29 players for a training camp in preparation for the Euro. The two Aiglons, Jordan Lotomba and Dan Ndoye are among them, a first for the latter with the national senior team.

Switzerland will meet the United States (30 May) and Liechtenstein (3 June) in two friendlies. The final squad for the Euro, where Switzerland is in Group A alongside Italy, Wales and Turkey, will be announced on 1 June at the latest.

Gouiri at the Euro U21s

Another category and another big event: Amine Gouiri has joined the French U21s for the Euro finals. In their quarter-final, Les Bleuets will face a tough test in the Netherlands. The match will take place on 31 May in Budapest.
The semi-finals will be held on 3 June and the final on 6 June.

Daniliuc with Austria U21

Flavius Daniliuc, captain of the Austria U21s, will be back with his team in June with more competitive football. After a first friendly against Slovakia (4 June), the Austrians will play a Euro 2023 qualifying match at home against Estonia (8 June).

AND also...

From the OGC Nice youth academy, three youngsters also received international call-ups. Full-back Samir Galmami will join up with the Poland U19 squad in a training camp to be held in Gniewino. While, Louis-Valentin Aboua and Kelyan Hamadi will be part of the France U16 team, in training at the CNF Clairefontaine.
