Ursea: "A complete performance until the very end"

Nice coach Adrian Ursea expressed his satisfaction in his post-match press conference after his side's convincing victory over OM (3-0).

Coach, how are you feeling after this big victory over Marseille this afternoon (3-0)?

We saw today that we are capable of delivering great performances when we come together as a team and we work together with and without the ball. This victory allows us to build on the point that we picked up at Lorient last weekend (1-1). We were a bit disappointed with the draw, especially due to the performance, but we were able to take positives from it. Today, we put in a complete performance until the very end of the match. We are remaining consistent and that's what we have been looking for. I am very happy that we were able to find it this evening.

We saw Khephren Thuram get on the scoresheet and put in an excellent performance in the middle of the park, which allowed Le Gym to get a foot up on your opponent…

Khephren has been training well for a while now, he was waiting for his chance and I took the decision like I have in the past by putting Morgan Schneiderlin and Pierre Lees-Melou on the bench in other matches. I am here to make choices which, I think, will help the team, to allow us to work well and pick up the victory. Today, I made the choice for the good of the team and because Khephren had done the necessary in training.

Amine Gouiri also put in an impressive showing, picking up another goal and an assist. What did you make of his performance?

Amine is in form. He is even surprising us because he has been in that shape since the start of the season. Honestly, I didn't expect that level of consistency from him. He is very professional, he was absent at the start of the week for personal reasons but he did everything in order to prepare well for this match. He shows a lot of maturity for someone so young and with such little experience.

He got on particularly well with Dolberg up-front. Did you see this as their best match together as a duo?

In terms of what we have seen until now, they haven't played many matches together, so we could say that. We are happy that they are able to find each other and have an understanding on the pitch. But this evening, it was the whole team that worked. We were able to do what was needed to play together and that's what makes me happy.

This win allows you to move up into the top 10 in the league table. Is survival now definitely achieved?

It relieves a bit of pressure but mathematically, we aren't yet safe, we are waiting for the other matches tomorrow. Like our win at Rennes (1-2), the victory this evening is important. It allows us to take a breath of fresh air and remove that pressure that doesn't allow us to take risks and forces us to think too much rather than play with more freedom. Football is complicated when you are too ponderous and I hope this win will allow us to approach the upcoming matches differently.

You were able to cope with the various changes that Jorge Sampaoli made during the match. Were you expecting them?

During his first two matches, he made lots of system changes and I was expecting that, he is an excellent tactician and prepares well. We were able to do what was needed to prepare the team for these system changes and the team was able to deal with them. They were prepared for each and every possible change, and that didn't trouble us that much. When we face teams that change systems, the challenges are different. I was scared that there would be too much information for the team, but they took that on board and we saw that today in practice. The players did what was needed to face up to these changes.
