Jean-Clair Todibo signs for OGC Nice

OGC Nice and FC Barcelona have agreed terms for the loan, with option to buy, for 21-year-old defender Jean-Clair Todibo.

After William Saliba, OGC Nice has signed another defender with a big potential, on this final day of the winter transfer window.
Tall, athletically built and not shy of a challenge, Jean-Clair Todibo came through the ranks in the Toulouse FC youth academy. A precocious talent, the central defender (who was a defensive midfielder during his academy years), was given his first team debut by Alain Casanova on 19 August 2018, against Bordeaux. After just ten Ligue 1 matches the France U20 international caught the eye of FC Barcelona, who signed him in the winter of 2019.

After five appearances in Catalonia, he was loaned to Schalke 04 the following winter. He quickly imposed himself as first-choice in the centre of defence and was receiving rave reviews when the championship was interrupted by the global Coronavirus pandemic and he returned to Barcelona before the completion of the season.

Loaned to Benfica for the first six months of the current campaign, Jean-Clair Todibo has chosen Le Gym to continue his progression.
OGC Nice wishes him a very warm welcome!
