Stadium: Allianz renew the "naming" partnership
For a large number of OGC Nice supporters, it's simply the "Allianz". That's always been the case since a beautiful afternoon in September 2013 and the grand inauguration of the stadium by the Aiglons as they beat Valenciennes (4-0). It's the affectionate shortening of the Allianz Riviera, the name given to the stadium at Ste Isidore.
Signed in 2012 for an initial 9-year duration, the "naming" deal has now been extended until 2030. Allianz France communicated on Monday about having "signed the renewal of the naming contract for Nice's stadium with the company Nice Eco Stadium, for 9 years from July 1 2021".
"By renewing this partnership, Allianz France wants to remind of its capacity to commit to the long term and to bring durable support to the local economic community," said the general insurance company.
"Allianz France are also proud to carry on the shared story with the stadium and the fans based on strong values and shared emotions."
