The stand out figures from 2020

Here is a look at some of the "stand out figures" from 2020, as the calendar year comes to a close.

29 128

The number of kilometres covered "as the crow flies" by the OGC Nice first team for their competitive matches this calendar year. That’s just short of a trip from the Comté to the South Pole (29 744 km round trip).

A slight difference this year being that the men from the Côte didn’t travel to Marseille (19-20 season postponed before the away trip; and the match from the 2020-21 season has been pushed back to 2021) or Monaco (where the last trip dates back to 24 September 2019).

The club’s shortest trip? Nîmes (558 km round trip). The furthest was to Tel Aviv (photo above), in the final match of the Europa League (8186 km).

2970

In minutes, the time Walter Benitez has spent on the pitch in 2020. No Aiglon beats the Argentine stopper who has played 33 of the 34 encounters, the other being played by Yoan Cardinale in Beer-Sheva.

169

The number of days between the final match of the 2019-20 season and the first of the 2020-21 season. In both, OGC Nice came out as 2-1 winners at home, first against Monaco and then against Lens.

20

The number of years separating the eldest and youngest members of the OGC Nice squad. Dante saw the light of day in 1983 (on 18 October). Salim Ben Seghir, who made his L1 debut against Dijon on 29 November was born on 24 February 2003.

Roughly a month after the attacking midfielder was born, the former Bayern man, started out in the Brazilian first division for Juventude, against Sao Paulo (2-2, on 30 March 2003).

39

39 Aiglons have featured for the first team this year. Amongst them, 11 are products of the Nice academy*. The average age of the 39 players is 23 years old.

18:25

The time that the first Nice goal of the year was scored. It was on 5 January, during Le Gym’s first Coupe de France match against Etoile Fréjus/Saint-Raphaël. The main who got the goal? Hicham Boudaoui.

Adam Ounas scored the other goal of the encounter (2-0).

The two top scorers of the year both found the back of the net on 9 occasions. Their names? Kasper Dolberg and Amine Gouiri.

The Danish forward scored 6 of his 9 goals between January and March. The former Lyon man scored all of his goals between August and December.
