The 1st quarter of the season in numbers

After an intense series of matches since mid-October, Ligue 1 and the Europa League are on pause before the final international window of the calendar year. It's the chance to look at the numbers that have marked the first quarter of the season, before another busy sequence of games with 10 matches in 33 days.

1170

Les Aiglons have played 12 matches in all competitions since the start of the season, 1170 minutes. Walter Benitze is the only Aiglon to have played every minute. He's ahead of Morgan Schneiderlin (1080), Hassana Kamara (1078), Pierre Lees-Melou (1029) and Amine Gouiri (1006), the 4 other Nice players to have played more than 1000 minutes.

629

In L1, Dante has played 620 successful passes this season (90% success rate) according to the LFP's official statistics. It's the 5th highest total in the league even though the Brazilian, injured in Round 9 and out for a long time, didn't play in Round 10. At Nice, the captain is ahead of Morgan Schneiderlin (552 passes, 9th highest total in L1, 91% success rate).

40

Walter Benitez has made 40 saves in L1 this season, the highest number of any goalkeeper in the 5 major European leagues in 2020/21. As a reminder, in 2018/2019 and 2019/20, Benitez was in the top 3 goalkeepers to have made the most saves in L1.

10

10 Aiglons have found the back of the net this season in all competitions. With 6 goals, Amine Gouiri is the top scorer for Nice, ahead of Kasper Dolberg, Pierre Lees-Melou (3) and Dante (2). On one goal are Khephren Thuram, Myziane, Alexis Claude-Maurice, Rony Lopes, Hicham Boudaoui and Dan Ndoye.

980

A scorer at Leverkusen on October 22 (6-2), Amine Gouiri put an end to a run of 980 days without a Gym goal in European competition since the second goal scored by Mario Balotelli against Lokomotiv Moscow on February 15 2018 (2-3).

3

Halfway through the Europa League group stage, 3 points separate the Gym from Slavia Prague, leaders of Group C. There are still 3 matches to be played in the group stage, starting with the home game against the Czech champions (Thursday November 26 at 21:00 CET at the Allianz Riviera).
