Gouiri: “This win is for the victims”

After Le Gym’s home victory against Hapoël Beer-Sheva in the Group Stage of the Europa League on Thursday (1-0), Amine Gouiri spoke to Telefoot

The forward first took the time to pay tribute to the victims of the attack that had happened earlier on Thursday: “We were all sad after what happened. It hit our city and this victory is dedicated to the victims, their families and to our whole city.

Comfortable in his role up-front, the former Lyonnais explained that he is feeling more and more at ease with his teammates as the games go by: “I like getting my foot on the ball and my teammates know it. I try to bring as much as possible.” The scorer of the only goal of the game in the 22nd minute, Gouiri picked up his fifth goal of the season against Beer-Sheva.

With 3 points now on the board, Les Aiglons pulled themselves back on to level terms with the rest of the teams in their group, who now all boast the same number of points: “The objective is to qualify and to have an excellent campaign by going as far as we can. We have only played two matches. We have a huge match to come against Slavia Prague (Thursday 5 November at 6.55pm) and we need to get all 3 points to get ourselves in front."
