Eddy Sylvestre joins Standard

OGC Nice and Standard Liege have struck a deal on the transfer of Eddy Sylvestre to the Belgian club.

After starting at Olympique de Marseille's youth academy, Eddy Sylvestre continued his football education at OGC Nice, whom he joined in summer 2017.

Having made a number of appearances for the club's reserve side, the young midfielder made his Ligue 1 debut against Strasbourg on 22 December 2018 (2-0). The following summer, he joined AJ Auxerre on loan and enjoyed a fruitful season despite the public health situation curtailing the campaign (16 L2 matches, 2 goals).

At 21 and after 10 L1 appearances for Le Gym, Eddy will now take a new step in joining Standard Liege against whom he scored his maiden first-team goal in a friendly on 21 July 2019 (2-1). Eddy will play in this season's Europa League with the Rouches, who are currently third in the Belgian top flight.

OGC Nice would like to wish Eddy every success in this next step in his career.
