Gouiri crowned in august
Amine Gouiri has made a great debut in Rouge et Noir and it’s reflected in the voting for the Crédit Agricole Aiglon of the Month. Our August winner with 74% of the supporters’ votes, he finished ahead of fellow forward Kasper Dolberg (14%) and full-back Hassane Kamara (7%).
Before the start of the season, he said he was "very happy" with the timing of his transfer to Le Gym, which happened very early in the Mercato is ideal for the adaptation. Adapted and adopted, Amine Gouiri has settled quickly and it could be seen in his preseason and has been confirmed in Ligue 1. Against Lens (2-1), his brace, which was scored in a match where there were "many things missing," according to Patrick Vieira, allowed the Nice team to start with a precious three points. A double that felt like two lightning strikes; a first to pull Le Gym level and then to fire them into the lead.
Also decisive in Strasbourg, where assisted Kasper Dolberg for the opening goal, the former Lyonnais joined up with the France U21s during the international break. Twice a starter, in the centre of the attack against Georgia and on the left in Azerbaijan, he continued his good form. He played 162 minutes and scored a sublime goal in Les Bleuets' second match.
The other goal scorer of the month, an Aiglon from last season, came second in your polling. Still clinical in front of goal, Kasper Dolberg (14% of the votes), who scored a double against Strasbourg (0-2), quickly opened his account in the Ligue 1 2020-21.
Finally Hassane Kamara (7% of the votes) completed the top three. New signing this season the left-back has brought a lot of energy to the left side of the defence. Solid in defence and dangerous in attack, he has lived up to the billing in his new colours.
