Vieira: 'The team's progressing but there's still work to do'

Coach, what stood out for you from this 6-0 win which follows the one in Liege last weekend?
T
oday, there were some really positive things, notably in the final third. We managed to link up in attack and be dangerous. They players feel a lot better physically and are starting to find their bearings. It's really satisfying to see the quality of play. We kept possession, were dangerous and scored goals. The team's progressing, that's what stood out.

It's also the first clean sheet of the pre-season.
It's important to have a good balance. We're trying to improve and there were some good things defensively today. Having said that, not everything was perfect, notably in terms of the four's positioning in relation to each other. But we'll have some good things to look at and work on.

What did you think of Myziane's display after he scored twice in the first half?
He, Amine and Alexis were dangerous up front. I liked the play we produced collectively in the final third. Myziane's injury is the negative point of the afternoon. He played really well in the first half, and injured himself scoring [after twisting an ankle, he was replaced by Brazão at the break]. It's a shame, he deserves a bit more luck, because he's been unfortunate in terms of injuries. But he'll dig in and work to come back stronger.

You've got a big week of training coming up before next Saturday's game against RB Salzburg (kick-off 16.00CEST)
We do have a big week coming up. We're going to recover well and keep working. There are a lot of things we can improve and which aren't up to the level I want. We took a step forward today. The attitude was excellent, the players are working well and are committed. They're always trying to improve in each training session, and that's encouraging for the future.
