OGC Nice suspends training

At Friday's press conference, President Rivère emphasised OGC Nice's need for adaptation in light of the Covid-19 crisis, "an evolving phenomenon" that would require a tailored and flexible response. Given the public health developments (the move to Stage 3, signifying the closure of a number of public spaces and limitation of public gatherings), the first-team's activities and training sessions — initially scheduled to restart on Monday — have been suspended until further notice.

Injured players will still receive treatment, but will do so on an individual basis.

The club has put in place bespoke training programmes which have been sent to each player in order to put them in the best possible condition to return to competition.

OGC Nice told the players of these changes on Sunday and gave them instructions not to travel (to reduce the risk of contamination and to avoid being prevented from returning to Nice should transport links be temporarily suspended), to remain contactable at all times, and — in general — to respect the instructions of the authorities regarding self-isolation and the adoption of responsible behaviour.

At this difficult time, OGC Nice is also thinking about its fans, and would like to take this opportunity to advise them to do all they can to protect themselves, their families and loved ones. Take care of yourselves, and we hope to see you again very soon. Issa Nissa.
