Aiglon of the Month for November

Dolberg makes it two

After winning the award for Player of the Month in September, Kasper Dolberg is your Crédit Agricole Aiglon of the Month for November. With 30% of the vote, the Danish international beat Youcef Atal (16%) and Pierre Lees-Melou (10%) to the award. The perfect chance to check out his progress at the club.

Kasper Dolberg has found consistency in his performances. The proof: he was involved in four of Les Aiglons’ seven goals in November, as well as putting in excellent performances against Lyon and Angers. At ease with his passing, showing mobility and robustness, he has confirmed the image that pundits and fans had of him when he arrived at the club. A forward that brings others into play, which compliments the work of the team around him.

His ability to find the danger zone has allowed him to score two superb goals, against Lyon and Angers. Two very different goals, but nonetheless very “him”. At the Groupama Stadium, even though he was flagged offside by a couple of millimetres, preventing him a first goal, he still got in front of Andersen to turn home first time with his right foot.

Against Angers, his first dummy run created space for Arnaud Lusamba to nab the equaliser; his incredible back-heel got the move going which led to Myziane’s goal and the cherry on the cake, he scored to make it 3-1 in added time. That cherry: a great battle after a long-ball over the top from Sarr, a first one-two with Lees-Melou, another with Lusamba, and a run in deep which was concluded with a left-footed strike at goal. “We showed some interesting things that we can build upon”, the former Ajax man explained calmly after the final match of the month, before briefly discussing his own personal situation. “My objective? Help the team to score as many goals as possible.”

At Saint-Etienne on Wednesday (the first  match of December), despite Le Gym’s heavy defeat (4-1), Dolberg once again played 90 minutes and scored a goal. His fifth in L1, which makes him Les Aiglons’ top scorer in the league this season.

*To this game time, he also played 92 minutes for the Danish national side who qualified for Euro 2020 during the November international break.
