Le Gym beaten at Saint-Etienne (4-1)
On Wednesday, Le Gym fell to defeat at Saint-Etienne in Week 16 of L1 (4-1).
Les Verts took the lead early on after Atal gave away a penalty and Bouanga made no mistake from 12 yards (1-0, 7').
Les Aiglons showed character in the minutes that followed. They got their equaliser when Cyprien‘s powerful free-kick was parried by Ruffier and Dolberg buried the rebound (1-1, 10').
The home side then progressively took control of the encounter. Hamouma neatly found the back of the net with a side-footed effort (2-1, 38') and Fofana extended the lead before the break with a header (3-1, 40').
Bouanga made things worse for Les Aiglons after returning from the dressing rooms (4-1, 58'), and the men from the Côte were unable to get back into the game.

Walter Benitez was beaten on four occasions, but made several saves throughout the evening.
Alexis Claude-Maurice, returning to the starting 11, won the free-kick that led to the Nice equaliser.
Wylan Cyprien, who struck that free-kick, was at the heart of all of Les Aiglons’ positive moves.
Kasper Dolberg scored his fifth goal in L1 and becomes Le Gym’s top scorer this season.
