November international break

What awaits those on international duty

The November international break began after Week 13 of L1. Eight Aiglons have headed off to meet up with their international sides. We look at what awaits our international players.

Kasper Dolberg, Denmark

The centre forward joins up with the Danish national side for a series of Euro 2020 qualifiers. On the cards for Åge Hareid’s side, two crucial encounters: A home match against Gibraltar (bottom in Group D on 15th November in Copenhagen) and a trip to Ireland (who are currently tied in first place with Denmark in the group on 18th in Dublin).

Youcef Atal, Algeria

The full back will join up with Les Fennecs for the first round of qualifiers for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations. On the programme for the African Champions: a match against Zambia (on 14th in Algiers) and a trip to Bostwana (on 18th in Gaborone).

Racine Coly, Senegal

In the same way as his Algerian teammate, Le Gym’s left back will join up with Senegal to participate in the qualifiers for the 2021 ACN. The Lions of Teranga will host Congo (on 13th in Dakar) and travel to Swaziland (on 17th in Manzini).

Ignatius Ganago, Cameroon

Called up to the senior squad for the first time in September, Ignatius Ganago will join up with his Cameroonian colleagues for the ACN qualifiers. Cameroon will face Cape Verde at home on Wednesday and will travel to Rwanda on 17th.

Andy Pelmard, France (U21s)

A regular youth international, Andy Pelmard has stepped up a level and has been called up to the France U21s for the first time. The defender (born in 2000) will be one of the youngest in the squad alongside Rayan Aït Nouri of Angers (2001). Sylvain Ripoll’s side will face Georgia (on 15th in Nancy) and Switzerland (on 19th in Neuchâtel) as part of the qualifiers for Euro 2021. A qualifying campaign that has got off to an excellent start with two wins, against Azerbaïdjan (5-0) and Slovakia (5-3).

Khéphren Thuram, Evan Guessand, France (U19s)

The Nice midfielder and forward will travel to Denmark, where the France U19s will play a European qualifier. Three fixtures await the team (all will be played on a synthetic pitch): against the Faroe Islands (13th), Finland (16th) and Denmark (19th).

Pedro Brazao, Portugal (U19s)

Called up to the Portugal U19s, the attacking midfielder will participate in a tournament in Ireland. On the menu, a match against Germany (13th), another against Northern Ireland (15th) and a final outing against Norway (18th).
