The last memory from Le Mans

On Wednesday at 6.45pm, Le Gym and Le Mans will go head to head for the first time in nearly 10 years. It was on 13 March 2010 that the two sides last faced each other...

It was Matchday 28 of Ligue 1 2009-10, one of Les Sarthois’ final appearances in the French top flight. The match took at the Stade Léon-Bollée, where just a quarter of an hour before the final whistle, Loïc Rémy scored the one and only goal of the game after a pass from Chaouki Ben Saada.

Les Aiglons finished in 15th place in the 2009-10 season, whilst Les Manceaux ended the campaign in 18th place - leading to their relegation to Ligue 2. Since then, the club have never made it back into L1.

Le Gym’s starting eleven

Ospina, Civelli, Apam (cap.), Diakité, Faé, Coulibaly, Gace, Digard, Rémy, Ben Saada, Bagayoko.
