Village OGC Nice

Grasse in Red and Black

On Tuesday, the Village OGC Nice, in partnership with Mutuelles du Soleil, stopped off at Grasse. In the perfume capital and in the presence of Adam Ounas, Stanley Nsoki, Poussin Meslin and Charly Loubet, nearly a thousand people gathered on the Cours Honoré Cresp.

We arent lucky enough to see them every day, because we are too far away... So to be able to speak with them in Grasse, it’s fantastic!” Turning 14 this spring, Enzo doesn’t hide his delight as Ounas and Nsoki sign his football. Arriving at around 5pm, the two Aiglons were able to witness that the west of the ‘département’ couldn’t wait to see them. “It’s really nice” explained Ounas, who is currently working to get back out onto the training pitch after a knee injury picked up during the game in Monaco. “It fills us with positive energy” continued Nsoki, who is currently out with an abdominal injury.

On Tuesday, around a thousand supporters made the most of the second Village OGC Nice of the season, at the very heart of Alpes-Maritimes. Under pleasant skies and the warmth of an autumn day, they enjoyed a full afternoon, where there was plenty on offer for all ages.

For the younger fans, they could enjoy the entertainment put on for them on Cours Honoré Cresp, and for the older supporters, an opportunity to chat with Poussin Meslin and Charly Loubet, two illustrious former players who proudly wore the red and black shirt.

Everybody involved gathered at the end of the day for the signing session with the Nice attacking midfielder and defender.

It is nice to see this youthfulness out on the Cours Honore Cresp coming out to meet with the OGC Nice players, declared Jérôme Viaud, the Mayor of Grasse. It’s a first. I thank OGC Nice and all of the organisation, the President (of RC Grasse) François Roustan who mobilised RC Grasse for this excellent meeting of sport and youth, with Le Gym at its heart. You just have to look at the reuslts, there are more than 900 people on the Cour, this shows that there is a desire among the population to experience football and especially, OGC Nice. It’s fantastic to see such energy concentrated in the heart of our city. It makes us proud because we realise that there are links between OGC Nice and Grasse. Sport and OGC Nice bring together and strengthen the power of our youth, showing them the way, an example. It’s something that we succeeded in doing, so I thank all those involved and in particular OGC Nice.”
