On Monday morning, Patrick Vieira‘s side pulled on their boots to write the first lines of their 2019-20 campaign, under the watchful eyes of Le Gym’s faithful. Fans that the team from OGCNice.com met with, whilst Les Aiglons warmed up on the pitch. 

38 days. 38 days have gone by since the final victory of the 2018-19 season (2-0 against Monaco). An eternity for Benjamin. The young man came to pick up some positive thoughts before his French oral exam: “To be here today, it’s a way of showing our support and to experience Le Gym’s world.”

As a family, or with friends, big and small, experienced or not, the Niçois came in their numbers to get a glimpse of their stars. Some even came before heading off to work... dressed in red and black. 

Intrigued, Patrick came to see the pros dust off the cobwebs: ”warm-up, technical drills, cardio work...”.

At the end of the session, Rayan and Élia (photo below) immortalised their first visit to the training ground by collecting several autographs and posing for photos with Allan Saint-Maximin and Patrick Vieira. The youngsters also made the most of the face-painting stand and the usual inflatables on the side of the pitch.

Lou Bus d'Aqui, the Nice food-truck, provided a boost for the fans after such an exciting morning. 

Although lots of fans are now focused on the summer holidays, Fabien and many others are already looking to the kick-off of the 2019-20 campaign at the Allianz Riviera (on the weekend of 10-11 August, against Amiens), but with even more excitement for the Mediterranean Derby, which is also at home on Week 3 (weekend of 24-25 August).
