CHÂTENOY 0-1 NICE (RETURN LEG)

The OGC Nice Women’s team in D2!

After ensuring a victory by the same score as in the first leg on the pitch of Châtenoy-le-Royal (0-1), Les Niçoises have secured promotion to the Second Division. A historic first for the OGC Nice Women’s team.

In the same way as last weekend in the capital of the Côte d’Azur, the encounter was balanced on a knife edge for most of the game. Unlike last weekend, where they had been happy to defend at the Francs-Archers, the Châtenoy-le-Royal players were a lot more creative in front of their own fans.

But Matthieu Esposito’s side proved their solidity and mental strength in order to maintain their lead at the end of the 90 minutes. A solo run from Léa Malaret, which was smartly finished confirmed the victory for Nice in the final stages of the game.

After failing at this stages on several occasions, Les Rouge et Noir have finally made it past the play-off hurdle. A standout moment for the OGC Nice Women’s team, who make it onto the National level for the first time in its history. A feat that merited a small celebration before returning to the Côte d'Azur.

The starting 11:
