Born in Nice on 13 January 1999, Thomas Valtriani signed his first professional contract on Friday.

“His commitment since he started at the club has been rewarded by this first contract“ explained Gilles Grimandi, the Technical Director of OGC Nice.

The slight defensive midfielder (1m84) started his footballing career at Entente Conque-Madeleine-Victorine. After spending some time at Cavigal, he joined Le Gym as an U15. Blessed with good technique and natural intelligence on the pitch, Valtriani played with the reserve team this season. An important member of Laurent Bonadei’s squad, he played 20 matches and wore the captain’s armband on several occasions during the second half of the season. 

Although he is yet to feature on the team sheet in L1, he has already been called up to the matchday squad on two occasions by Patrick Vieira (for the visits of Caen and Monaco). “This contract gives him the possibility to demonstrate his desire to become a full member of the first team squad” concluded Gilles Grimandi.
