When speaking to the press, Patrick Vieira expressed his frustration after his side’s heavy defeat in the “Chaudron”: “On the whole, we can’t say that 3-0 reflects the difference that there was between the two sides. We leave here with lots of frustration because the team deserved better. It’s a shame that we didn’t succeed in opening the scoring which would have given us confidence. The difference this evening was the experience of the two sides. Beric had two chances, he scored them both. We had quite a few, their keeper made some good saves but we leave frustrated. That sums up our season where we play some good football, we manage to do some interesting things, but in the end, we can’t put them away, we misplace the final pass, we are naive defensively and then concede a goal. But in terms of spirit, I can’t criticise my players.”
