Once again decisive, Walter Benitez was voted your Crédit Agricole Aiglon of the Match for Nice vs Lyon (1-0) after the supporters vote, in which he earned 54% of the votes. He beat Rémi Walter and Dante to the title.

On Sunday, during Week 24 of Ligue 1, the Argentine rock was in magnificent form once more. Like in their first encounter this season, Benitez stopped every one of Lyon’s attempts on target (5), saving his own side on several occasions, often in spectacular fashion.   

The first of these came shortly before the thirty minute mark, as he got down to deny Traoré‘s effort at his near post (25’), then parried Memphis’ effort, after the forward had found himself unmarked on the penalty spot towards the end of the game (79’). The Nice keeper was equally solid in his aerial battles and ensured his 10th clean sheet of the season. A stat which, deservedly, saw him pick up the Man of the Match award for the fifth time this season.   

The scorer of the only goal of the game, Rémi Walter made no mistake from the penalty spot (69’), as he wrong-footed Lopes to take the lead (1-0). With a pass completion rate of 92.5%, the midfielder’s general performance was particularly impressive.  

Finally, with 53 touches of the ball, an in-form Dante completes the podium.
