OGC Nice’s value has multiplied by 5 since 2011 according to L’Équipe

In Friday’s edition, L’Equipe looks at the “real value of Ligue 1 clubs”. To imagine the “weight” of PSG, to discover if GACP are buying Bordeaux for the right price, or to see how much OM are worth today, the sports daily explains that it has “risked a valuation” by calculating “an average of their turnover (their budget) and a multiple of the value of their squad, their main asset.” The benchmark being defined “in line with the power of footballing brands both in France and internationally.”

According to its calculations, the newspaper places OGC Nice in 5th place! With a value of 130 million Euros (for an estimated budget of 50 million Euros), the Gym, thanks to the development led by Jean-Pierre Rivère and Julien Fournier (the club was valued at 24 M€ in 2011 when they arrived) is “worth more”, than Lille (117 M€), Bordeaux (116 M€) or even St Etienne (97 M€). Paris SG expectedly top the table (990 M€).
