What awaits the Aiglons

Training got back underway on Tuesday for Patrick Vieira’s side, but without those players on international duty. Here’s what lies ahead for the Aiglons who are away with their national sides. 

MARIO BALOTELLI, ITALY

Back in business against Lyon, after missing the first three matches of the season through suspension, Super Mario will have the chance to play back to back with the Squadra Azzura at the start of September. 

Two matches await the striker, as part of the Nations League: Italy vs Poland (on 7 September in Bologna) and Portugal vs Italy (on 10 September in Lisbon).

BASSEM SRARFI, TUNISIA 

It’sa second knockout round for the CAN 2019 for the Aigles de Carthage. After a win over Egypt, Bassem and Tunisia will face Swaziland (on 9 September in Mbabane).

OLIVIER BOSCAGLI, FRANCE U21S 

Having started the first four games of the season in L1, Bosca’ joins up with the U21s who are managed by Sylvain Ripoll.

Two Euro knockout encounters await the Bleuets (leaders of Group 9) and the young left back: against Bulgaria (on 7 September in Stara Zagora) and Luxembourg (on 11 September in Strasbourg).

M. SARR AND M. MAOLIDA, FRANCE U20S

The two teammates, members of the ‘99 generation (semi-finalists in the last Euro U19) have travelled to be with the U20s, who will play two friendlies, against Montenegro in Niksic (on 6 September); then against the Montenegrin side FK Buducnost (on 9 September, in Podgorica).

LAMINE DIABY-FADIGA, FRANCE U18S

Lamine Diaby-Fadiga has met up with his camarades from the 2001 generation 2001 to play for the French U18s.

The young Bleus will take part in the Limoges Tournament, and will face Russia (5 September), the Netherlands (7 September) and England (9 September). Initially called up, Evann Guessand (unavailable) will stay in Nice for the international break.

ASSIL JAZIRI, TUNISIA U23S

A product of the Gym academy, explosive and technical, the attacking midfielder who is currently playing with the reserves, Assil Jaziri (19 years old) has been called up to the Tunisian U23s. He will prepare to face the Ivory Coast in a double header (7 and 9 September in Tunis).

These fixtures will be used to prepare for the knockouts of the U23s Africa Cup of Nations, as well as qualifiers for the upcoming Olympics (in 2020 in Tokyo).

PEDRO BRAZAO, PORTUGAL U17S

The young Aiglon (15 years old) will play in the Syrenka Cup in Poland. A competition that brings together Portugal, Estonia, Belgium, Romania, Hungary, England, Norway and the home side.
